The first Lake Alta expedition

Lake Alta sits near the top of the Remarkables, near Queenstown. Steve Bell from Cromwell organises a SCUBA dive through the ice every year, with divers arriving from all around New Zealand. It takes a chainsaw to make a dive hole through the ice, and the water is sitting right on freezing point.

For some reason, they wanted a hot tub up there.
